Why is Saint Anthony Holding the Child Jesus?

According to legend, toward the end of his life, the hermit cell where Anthony was praying, suddenly filled up with light and Jesus appeared as a tiny child. The historical Anthony however, was famous because of his Scripture-based preaching. So the infant in Anthony's arms, often standing on the Holy Bible, is an obvious symbol for the very embodiment of God's Word.
