 | The Curve at Barnitz Mill | | by Ralph Brandt | | published on Jul 14, 2008 | This curve in the road has many stories. Just off the left of the picture is the historic Barnitz mill which is shown in other pictures on this site. The home and barn are an adjacent farm. A combination corn crib and wagon shed once stood in the grassy area between the trees. It was open on both ends so that wagons could be pulled in, unloaded and pulled out. Wagons are hard to back. The sides were each two walls, with three to four feet between them, field corn on the cob was stored in these spaces. It looked a little like a covered bridge. There is a picture of one of these that will be posted to Triond.
There are stories about this site, they will be posted to Triond later, they were too long to post with the picture.
