I hate walking home when there are people behind me, especially if they're talking loudly. It makes me paranoid. So... this is me, walking home and being paranoid. They're not people, though. They're...um... nightmare chavs. Or something.

I think that you have caught the emotion absoloutely perfectly. The unknowing on the face of the potential victim occupied with the phone call, in contrast to the sinister looks on the faces of the threatening shadows.

Oh it does rather look like a phone doesn't it? It's not supposed to be. She's/I'm biting her/my index fingernail in a nervous gesture.
