 | Heliconia (alexandra Hospital, Singapore) | | by Myrlinn | | published on Dec 1, 2008 | The heliconia is a popular choice for modern tropical gardens because of its dramatic colour(s), and the sculptural shape of its flowers. These heliconia on the grounds of Singapore's Alexandra Hospital (which has a fantastic garden) caught my eye because they look like two very exuberant dancers.
The heliconia is also known as lobster-claw, wild plantain and false bird-of-paradise. |
