 | Stone Home Along South Baltimore St – South Side | | by Ralph Brandt | | published on Mar 20, 2009 | This was probably a road house. Mt. Holly was along the Baltimore Pike. It was just north of the Holly Gap (pictured elsewhere). The road to Gettysburg and Hanover passed here and split just south of the gap. With Gettysburg and Hanover being more than twenty miles to the south this would have been a place to stop. Carlisle, the next large town to the north is about six miles. I think one of the interesting features of this home is the amount of space around it.
