 | 3d Chi Rho with Alpha and Omega | | by Bill M. Tracer | | published on Dec 16, 2008 | Now thought to possibly be the most ancient Christian symbol, the Chi Rho represents the honorific name Christ by combining the first and second letters of that name in Greek. Christian artifacts have recently been found dating back to before 70 AD, with the Chi Rho scratched on them. By the third and forth centuries this symbol was often used flanked by the Alpha and Omega Greek letters representing the first and the last. Here I created these symbols in 3D rendered in Bryce, with post effects done in Photoshop. |
