Ultimate Butter Bloom Blend

by Bill M. Tracer
published on Jun 19, 2009

This image is another one of my creations using the fractal generator software, Vchira, with post work in Photoshop. This image incorporates blended variations from all three of the fractal image series themes, Butterfly Blooms, Zoom Down Butter Bloom Down, and Flutter By Blooms, all blended together as Photoshop layers. The post work included creating the digital frame, and adding my digital signature, as well as the filtering and layering effects.

Beautiful abstract work. Do you have a goal in mind when you create a piece--in other words, do you have a concept you are trying to convey? The beauty is absolutely enough; I was just curious about the impetus for your work in general.

Thank you, WriteEditSeek, for your interest and question. When I work with the fractal programs, I explore various formulas and then within a given fractal formula I zoom and pan until I find an arrangement that has an eye catching composition. Then I render up several versions in different color themes and blend them together in Photoshop. So really there is a mixture of randomness to the process, coupled with very deliberate blending and layering procedures. If you explore some of my other many images published here at Picable, you will see there are many blended layer abstracts, but I also create 3D graphic scenes. Those are of course much more laid out and designed and are created with a decidedly more involved process.

Fascinating.... I like the composite differences, the way you layered them. Gives a decided 3D feel.

While I am not a big fan of this computer generated or manipulated art because to me it seems like cheating, it does take an artistic spirit to recognize a good image from the not so good ones and you have that ability. This is very pretty.

Bill...I finally quit responding to each one individually because I was running out of adjectives! They are all absolutely gorgeous! You know I love your work but what is the most fascinating to me is how you can take the same theme and by using color differently, make each one stand on it's own. Wonderful....
