 | Disconnect by Kelly W. Patterson | | by EYEAM4ANARCHY | | published on Jun 30, 2009 | This is an abstract painting accented with several identifiable images rendered as three-dimensional sculpture. These images consist of a disembodied head painted in white face, four colored balls, and a theater style curtain suspended across the top of the painting. These sculptural effects are representative of a circus performer juggling before an audience. As a whole, the painting is symbolic of someone who is so busy maintaining their public persona and creating an exterior image that they lose track of who they truly are as a person.
This painting is a mixed media, oil-based painting, which was completed in April of 2009. It was first exhibited as part of the Vegas Artists Guild Spring Art Show held at the College of Southern Nevada from May 1, 2009 to June 30, 2009. It measures 36"X48" and was rendered on canvas. |
