Harper Smith Plowing - 1960 Back

This farm was across the road from my home. In the early 1960's Harper Smith was still plowing with a single bottom plow horse drawn plow. This and one other are the only pictures of him I have, these were taken on Kodak 620 roll film using a fixed focus, fixed aperture lens and shutter. That plastic camera cost about $3.95 at that time, a 16 exposure roll of black and white film for it just over a dollar and the processing and printing just over two dollars. But minimum wage was one dollar an hour.
