Paper Cranes

A symbol of peace and friendship. A Japanese legend promises that if you fold a thousand paper cranes, your wish would be granted by a crane, which is considered a holy or mystical creature in Japan. In Asia, it is popularly stated that if you fold a thousand origami cranes, your wish will come true... I fold a thousand paper cranes Slowly by hand, one by one Hoping for one thing only: That all your wishes come true.

I once received a present of a number of paper cranes from a student--not quite 1,000, but it was the thought that counted.

A very interesting article. I must pass this on to my son in Japan. Perhaps he and his family could fold a thousand.

My first time to make a paper crane was during my high school days. As a punishment for the unruly attitude I was displaying inside the classroom, my Art teacher required me to make 100 paper crane.. Just thinking, If i had been much rude at that time then I should be making not 100 but maybe 1000 of them..
