 | African-American Mashing Bowl | | by H. Catheryn | | published on Aug 13, 2009 | In southern Louisiana, I visited the Laura Plantation, where they showed tours of the old plantation and slave houses. I was amazed by the frailness of it all, the captured beauty. This picture I took (and faded a little) because the bowl seemed like an important part of the culture, of the suffering of the African-American slaves and how it slowly ended. So, here I present to you a very old, very symbolized bowl. |
