Pre-historic Burial Mound of Pentre Ifan, Wales

by Charles Moorhen
published on Apr 26, 2008

This is the ancient burial mound of Pentre Ifan in Wales, UK. When it was built, 2000 years ago, it would have been covered over completely with soil which has, over many years, eroded. The body would have been placed on the ground directly beneath the huge capstone. Entry to the site would have been between the large stones on the left of the picture.
