Mrs Humes Bartailed Pheasant

This is a male, his colors are subtle but beautiful. I just bought him today at a livestock auction. (Easter Sunday) He came with a mate too, so hopefully I will have young pheastants this summer. They are my pets.

Wow, hes gorgeous! I never really twigged there were different sorts of pheasant, I only know the ones with the long stripey tails. There's a lot of those in the meadows near college.
