 | Polka Dot Moth | | by ken bultman | | published on Aug 14, 2009 | This lovely lady lays her eggs on the underside of oleander leaves. Caterpillars emerge and their only diet is that of those leaves. Those caterpillars are the only creatures known that can safely ingest the toxic oleander. Moreover, they themselves become toxic and have no predators except me. A handful of the worms can devastate an oleander tree in a matter of days. |
