Ancient Juniper Tree

In Cavern Gulch, Colorado, like many of the cliffs and mountainsides in the state, grow ancient Juniper trees. They are twisted and shaped over the years by the freezing winds, ice, and snow. This one served as a strong anchor as we rappelled down a small cliff to investigate a cave lead.
