Early Generation DMU Enters Basingstoke Station

by Charles Moorhen
published on Mar 3, 2009

This early generation DMU, seen entering Basingstoke station in BR blue livery, has just come from Reading. Incidentally, the part of the station that it is entering, was once owned by the Great Western Railway. A public house, the large white building (to the left and rear of the picture), near the original entrance to the station is called "The Great Western".
