The wild pepper (Piper sarmentosum) is native to Asia, and used in Southeast Asian cuisine. For example, in Malaysia, the leaves are added to rice dishes and a fish paste ("otah otah"), and in Thailand, they are used as a wrap for a kind of finger salad.
