Wooden Carved Horse

by thestickman
published on Apr 14, 2009

I carved a wooden horse for a friend of my wife's, for an Easter present. I shall be blogging the steps it took and posting shortly, at my other blog @ http://random-timelines.blogspot.com/

A really beautiful piece of work. The woodgrain really gives it movement.

Image turned out a little bit too dark, murky. It is a bit softer than this IRL. And I didn't notice the sun glare at the time else I'd have softened that in the image-editing.

Whoa- you made that? Looks like it could be sold in an art gallery, and I'm not joking...

Auction - 80 dollars, 150...any takers? 250...we have three takers...500! Going, going...sold! :D

No, -not much time. I worked on this for two days and each day for about an hour or a bit longer. I'd say in total, maybe three hours to make. It was a nice way to enjoy the (somewhat) warmer temperatures on our balcony. Its still a bit chilly though...

That's impressive. There was a story on the news the other day about the fire brigade being called out to rescue a pony stuck in a ditch - it turned out to be a very short-legged pony not in a ditch at all. Sorry, this just reminded me of that!
