Named after Admiral Louis de Bougainvillea, this flower is one of the most popular, spectacular and beautiful tropical plants. Bougainvilleas are more commonly known as paper flowers.

Beautiful pic. A little known fact is they are nature's barbed wire. Grow them along a fence and their sharp thorns deter the craftiest criminals from climbing over.

The Island of Bougainville is truly beautiful place - they have been in a forgotten war that has ruined the economy and cost countless lives - ove the last ten years.
