Mexican Petunia

by ken bultman
published on Aug 18, 2009

True name is Britton's Wild Petunia or Mexican Bluebell. Perennial, native to Mexico but adapts well to U.S. gulf states. The plant has the characteristics of the morning glory in that it is in full bloom by daylight but by late afternoon the blossoms will have fallen off. New buds have already formed and are ready to open the next morning.

I shudder to think : if Ken turn into a full-time photographer, how many photographers will loose their jobs ?

Somehow, that flower looks awfully familiar. I think it grew wild near my childhood home.
