 | The General Lee as a Japanese Import | | by Taggart | | published on Oct 8, 2009 | In the seventies, folks weren’t concerned about fuel economy – They were into muscle cars.
That’s probably why the producers of the television show The Dukes of Hazzard chose a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T for the role of The General Lee. That was the car driven to excess by the Duke cousins Bo and Luke.
If the saga of The Dukes of Hazzard had been set thirty years later, chances are the Duke boys would have been driving a more environmentally friendly ride like the Honda Civic.
Somehow it just doesn’t seem right, does it? |
