A Sea of Tin

by Ralph Brandt
published on Apr 29, 2009

This pictures shows what looks like a sea of tin roofs. This is a portion of Mt Holly Springs PA near the railroad and Chestnut Street. It is one of the older working class areas of the town and shows the lower cost construction of the early 1900's. Most of these homes have had inside modernization and some have had the wooden siding covered with aluminum or vinyl but these tin (actually galvanized iron sheeting) roofs remain.
