Karlo Maquinto (21), kite-class boxer, died in hospital Far Eastern University, Manila. Maquinto died after being hospitalized for a week.
Maquinto was rushed to hospital last Saturday, after his fight to face Joseph Costa. In the battle that ends this draw, Maquinto had suffered two knock down.
Boxer with a record of 8-0-1 with six knockouts fighting was unconscious after a battle that lasted four round.
Boxing is a sport popular in the Philippines and more popular after the state was able to produce two world champions, namely Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire. |
