Sandhill Cranes

These urbanized birds are hunting some shade in the city. They are a mated pair and their grown up offspring. The adult female will not nest again until her "baby" leaves their care and that might not be for another year.

Hope they are not like the Canadian geese we get in these parts, wandering in the road and leaving little "presents" on your sidewalk. :)
