The Alberta Badlands

Although most people do not realize it, there is a place in Canada that has rattlesnakes, scorpions, desert conditions, and very, very, hot weather. This is the Alberta badlands, given the name due to the difficulty early settlers had there - the land was "bad".

I live about 4 hours north of here. Yes there really are rattlesnakes in Canada, but I have never seen one! (my sister who lives to the south of here, had one in her backyard once though)
