Cypriot Worker

The Cyprus donkey is still used in the vineyards. The shelf like fields are sometimes to narrow too get a vehicle to them, so the donkey earns his keep. This one lives in the village of Polemi, Paphos in Southern Cyprus. During the grape picking season, he will wear his baskets either side.

I am glad to know he is well cared for. I remember my late father giving an arab a taste of his own medicine once when I was a lad. I don't think the arab ever forgot it, and I hope he learnt his lesson and looked after it after.
I love Asses, Horses and Donkeys and of course your photo.

Nice to see his feet are trimmed, Mark and I went to an odd and unusual livestock auction here recently and some of the feet on the donkeys were terribly neglected. I wish the people had been charged, love the color on this one, most here are the grey ones.
