The Burren

The Burren is a rocky landscape in County Clare, Ireland. The hills used to be covered with fertile soil, and farming was good. Over time, the soil eroded from the hills and the people moved down into the valleys. What they left behind is a habitat for flora and fauna of all types. This photo does not do justice to the natural beauty of the Burren. The scale of the Burren has to be seen in person to be experienced.
