This is a restored traditional whitewashed Irish thatched cottage, These were designed as working cottages, Their inhabitants earned a living from the surrounding lands or sea. In their most basic form the traditional Irish cottages were a humble single-roomed dwelling that sometimes also housed the owners’ animals. The buildings varied from region to region, depending on the availability of local materials.
