Farm School Lunch Programs

I remember when I went to school back in the day when times were simpler and you would always know you were going to eat something good at school. Today eating lunch at school is just as important for a Childs health. For some children a lunch at school is the best or maybe only meal they have for that day. Lunch is a very important meal of the day because it consists of about ½ to 1/3 of their nutritional intake. The reason school lunches has become an issue is because of Type two diabetes and obesity in school age children on the rise. According to some the quality of school lunches is lacking in many schools across our nation. Also according to some school lunches had too much fat, salt, and saturated fats. The Child Nutrition act is under reconsideration for the year 2010 to improve the state of affairs in the school lunch program. The goal of this program is to improve child nutrition, serve healthier meals, and this act will also help regional and local farmers.
