 | "The Dunny", Australian Style | | by Adrian Michael | | published on Nov 6, 2007 | No running water, no toilet flushing, this Australian dunny is located at Charters Towers, an old gold ming town 135 km south-west of Townsville in Queensland. It is fully equipped with great spider webs and is home to several large Red-Back Spiders, whose bites can be very painful and can make even an adult quite ill. Dunnies used to be quite common in Australia, and I can remember my father building ours. |
