 | Harvesting The Beans | | by Ralph Brandt | | published on Oct 27, 2009 | DSC_8397-79.jpg
Most Americans are not as productive as their foreign counterparts but the American Farmer has no peer in the world. He outproduces every other farmer in the world both per capita and per dollar. Grain he grows can be shipped around the world and compete with locally grown. Why? Sure he works hard. You bet. But he also works smart. Here a farmer is loading soy beans from the bin in the picker into a truck in the field. Harvest time is a choreographed production with machines, trucks and supplies being delivered just in time to the point of use. Many of the farms use CB or FMRS/GRS radios to communicate. |
