Crochet Turtle Family

This is a group of turtles that I made when my son was very small. I made the blue one first.

You an find my pattern at http://gomestic.com/pets/crochet-turtle/

My son told me that he wanted a wife and baby turtle too, so I made the others for him. They are made using the exact same pattern, but the pink one is made using a smaller hook (3.5 mm hook), and the baby turtle is made using an even smaller hook (3 mm) and thinner yarn.

I was just looking at my description of the blue turtle (dad) on Gomestic, and I said that the finished toy was about four -5 inches in length. Boy, was I was wrong! I haven't seen the toy in quite a while. I dug it out of my son's old toy box and it is actually about 10 inches from tip of tail to tip of nose. The pink one (mom) is about nine inches and the baby is about six inches.

This is one of the shots taken at the La Mesa Eco Park during our Visit there last 2011 for a park visit. this is one of my personal favorite because it represents how
we can still live with nature even thru modern times. Especially for the fact that La Mesa Eco Park is located within the city boundaries of which industrial development is just around the corner.
